This folio was made to integrate the Written Close Analyses for different 21st Century literary pieces written by Filipino authors. The analyses were made to better understand the texts as a whole.

First, the analyses include background information to introduce facts that would be helpful in scrutinizing the texts and expanding familiarity. Second, the analyses include the condense or the summary. It is the foundation of texts which facilitates understanding and focuses on the most crucial information. Third, the analyses include the reflected culture to better comprehend the similarities and differences of people’s cultures. Fourth, the analyses include the literary techniques used by the author to better appreciate the uniqueness of the text. Moreover, knowing different literary techniques can help in making literary texts that are captivating and meaningful. Finally, the analyses include the deep which includes the interpretations, observations, suggestions, and recommendations; it is the overall analyzation of the text regarding its different elements especially its effectiveness.

The Written Close Analyses provide benefits for the texts’ author, the analyzer, and the readers. First, the author of a literary text will know the readers’ observations, suggestions, and recommendations which will help him improve his text or his future works. Second, the analyzers benefit by learning how texts are made. They can know the different ways/techniques to create an effective text; thus, they can apply their new knowledge on their own works. Third, the analyses will let readers understand the texts easily. Like the analyzers, they can also know the different ways/techniques to create an effective and unique text.

Analyzing a text requires careful scrutinizing on each words and sentences. It requires serious reading to successfully analyze the different elements like technique, plot development, characterization, etc. In making the analyses, the steps are to read the text several times, know the facts or background information, determine the culture and techniques, and find the commendable parts and shortcomings for improvement.

This folio can be used by future readers of the texts that were analyzed. This folio can also be used by future students as a guide to know how written close analyses and folios are made. Writing close analysis is one of the best ways to introduce different cultures and elements in writing texts. It will not only provide knowledge, but it will also improve the reading and writing skills of the author.

This approach of making folios that include written close analyses should be continued by students, teachers, and schools. This approach should be introduced to more learning institutions so that the amount of benefits reaped will be maximized and the improvement of skills will be rapid and effective.
